| PRODUCTS The Sunfilm family of products are all based on high-efficiency tandem junction thin film silicon technology and consist of five different size modules: Model F – Ultra large size module of 2.6 x 2.2 m Model L – A half size module measuring 2.6 x 1.1 m Model W – A half size module measuring 1.3 x 2.2 m Model Q – A quarter size module at 1.3 x 1.1 m Model SN2 / SN2-R – Measuring 1.1 x 1.7 m With this range of dimensions, it is always possible to have the right size module for the job, no matter whether this is on a roof, as a free field installation or as part of a building wall. All module types are constructed as a frameless laminated glass/glass structure. In contrast to the majority of today´s thin film silicon producers, Sunfilm is going directly into the use of tandem junction thin film Si technology with a combination of two differently absorbing silicon layers. This improved cell design produces considerably higher efficiencies compared to single-junction a-Si modules, which is due to a better utilization of the solar spectrum. The tandem junction thin film silicon technology gives the Sunfilm modules their distinctive, uniform black color and makes the products ideally suited for applications where aesthetics are of concern. Sunfilm modules use silicon as the main element in their photovoltaic layer structure. Next to hydrogen, oxygen and carbon, silicon is one of the 10 most abundant elements in the world. Even though an abundant material is used in Sunfilm’s modules, it is only about 1 % of the amount of silicon, needed for a comparable mono - or polycrystalline module. Since there are no toxic heavy metal components, or rare elements in Sunfilm’s modules, there are no concerns of environmental safety or disposal of products. Module benefits at a glance:
